On being from Springfield

I saw my best buddy from high school the other day, and he related this comment to me, which my sister also agrees with: "Does this ever happen to you? You tell people about Springfield and things that happened in high school and they don't believe you?"

I was looking at my high school Facebook group yesterday, and the wall posts were basically a bunch of '05 or '07 kids who were boasting that their classes were the best because "they started it all"--and by "started it all" I mean crazy crap 5 times worse than pulling fire alarms (I mean, that happened plenty when I was around)... so essentially, probably setting real fires. And crap.

Speaking of crap, my junior year of high school someone smeared crap (human feces, dung, excrement, what have you) all over the C stairwell. It was the same day our biology class turtles got murdered with rubbing alcohol. Things had gone downhill by then. (We were supposed to be the science-oriented [read: gifted] new high school.)
